The arm will consist of aluminium rectangular tubes 50 mm x 100
mm x 4.8 mm thick with aluminium round tubes 25 mm diameter x
3.8 mm thick of wall, vertically welded at 150 mm centre to
centre at the top and at the bottom. The vertical and horizontal
posts in the middle of the arm are square tubes 50 mm x 50 mm x
4.8 mm thick. The arm is available up to 4876 mm long. The
height of the arm is 1524 mm at both ends and the dimensions at
the centre vary depending on the model.
An aluminium flat bar 19 mm x 4.8 mm is welded onto the vertical
tubes of the arm for the arch finishing, depending on the chosen
model.

The counterbalancing 2458 mm (or proportional to the length of
the gate) long will consist of aluminium rectangular tubes 50 mm
x 100 mm x 4.8 mm locked by 50 mm x 50 mm aluminium square tubes
in a cross pattern, solidly welded.

The aluminium is mill finish or painted white, brown, black or
green.
|
The hot dipped galvanized steel supporting posts will be 100 mm
in diameter x 4.8 mm thick driven into the 25 mPa cement pillars
at a minimum depth of 1524 mm. The supporting posts will also be
cross-barred together with hot dipped galvanized steel tubes 50
mm in diameter x 4.8 mm thick. The distance of the supporting
posts is proportional to each length of the gate.

The aluminium guiding rail, designation 6063-T-52 with a yield
strength of 24,000 psi, will be bolted to the centre or top of
the aluminium rectangular tube of the gate at every 410 mm.
Inside the guiding rail will be the 2 trolleys of 4 heavy duty
sealed bearings for sliding and 2 wheels to guide the gate in
its axis. These trolleys will be provided with an
auto-adjustable axis with bearing that will be bolted on the
supporting posts. Two aluminium angles will be welded underneath
the gate inside which will slide the 100 mm x 32 mm guiding
wheels.

OPENING/CLOSING MECHANISM:
|
The gate operates with a hot dipped galvanized steel
rack-and-pinion or a roller chain attached to the centre
rectangular tube or in the top of the gate arm linked by a
sprocket to the electric operator mechanism.
THE RACK-AND-PINION MECHANISM IS FAR MUCH A BETTER SYSTEM THAN
THE ROLLER CHAIN.

This unit is universal i.e. it can be installed either on the
left or on the right. This unit is provided with a 40:1 ratio
gear reducer. The motor is protected against overcurrent by an
overload relay that can be reset automatically.
This unit is equipped with an adjustable automatic friction
clutch that protects the gate and the operator in case of an
obstruction.
The rotary type limit switches are easily adjustable in both
directions. The motor can be removed easily without disturbing
the limit switches adjustment.
The 1 HP motor is available in 208, 460 or 600 volts, three
phase.
The electric operator is equipped with a self adjusting solenoid
drum brake with a 360° friction surface area.
The manual disconnect permits the gate to be independent for a
manual operation and an electric interlock will cut the power to
the control circuit during the operation. It will not be
necessary to remove the driving chain and the limit switches
will not go out of adjustment. The reversing contactor is a
heavy duty industrial type, Allan-Bradley or equivalent, with
mechanical interlock.
The base and the cover of the operator is in steel with ball
bearings tension sprockets mounted on a steel shaft of 25 mm in
diameter. The cover and the intermediate plate can be removed
easily for maintenance. A thermostatically controlled heater is
provided inside the cabinet.
This operator can operate with a #50 roller chain or with a
rack-and-pinion mechanism installed on the gate arm to give much
higher efficiency and durability outputs.
The cabinet is spray painted in blue.

HEAVY DUTY CONTROL CABINET:
|
The control cabinet will be EEMAC type 4 inside which will be
mounted the 1 HP electric operator in 208, 460 or 600 volts,
three phase; the relays; the contactors; the DC2000 dedicated
logic controller; 20% more terminals to hook-up any other
accessories or electric equipments. This unit is provided with a
40:1 ratio gear reducer. The motor is protected against
overcurrent by an overload relay that can be reset automatically.
The cabinet will also be provided with a thermostatically
controlled heater; one 110 volts plug-in; one 25 watts service
light with a switch; one breaker to cut the power and one
disconnect lever arm to operate the gate manually in case of a
power failure.
This unit will be equipped with an adjustable automatic friction
clutch that protects the gate and the operator in case of an
obstruction.

On the vertical face of the gate arm, closing side, is installed
an AGDS safety edge working with a receiver/transmitter. When
touched, the safety edge stops the gate and reverses it to its
open position.

For an easy working condition, a shelter is available so that
the gate arm slides inside a tunnel the whole length of the
total opening, consisting of all-metal sheetings for the sides
and a roof. This shelter prevents from shovelling during the
Winter seasons. The shelter is made different ways with
different materials.
