SERIES 902T - 50 MM INDUSTRIAL TRACKS
TORSION SPRINGS COUNTERBALANCING MECHANISM
|
The hardware will be series 902T with torsion springs
counterbalancing mechanism as manufactured by Dorion Doors Inc.
All hardware will be according to our shop drawings and
specifications described below.
|
The 50 mm vertical and horizontal tracks will be formed from 2.4
mm thick Z275 galvanized steel. The track brackets will be
welded to the vertical tracks and inclined for a better tight
closing.
|
The continuous Z275 galvanized steel angle 11.43 cm x 3.81 cm x
2.8 mm thick will be roll-formed and shop welded to the vertical
tracks. (Optional at extra costs)
|
The end bearing plates will be in Z275 galvanized steel 3.2 mm
thick, protected by one coat of zinc primer, with press fitted
bearings. For doors exceeding 159 kg the end bearing plates will
be 6.4 mm thick with bolted pillow blocks.
The use of pillow blocks is highly recommended for all types of
doors because of the flexibility of the moving shaft when the
door is in movement.
|
ADJUSTABLE TOP CORNER BRACKETS:
|
The top corner brackets will be in galvanized steel 1.9 mm
thick, adjustable type, in order to adjust properly the top
section to the lintel. Door sections weighing more than 55 kg or
exceeding 4920 mm in width will have double top corner brackets.
|
The rollers will be 50 mm in diameter. They will be in
galvanized steel with 10 ball bearings. The cold roll stem 1.11
mm in diameter will be 100 mm long. The rollers will have 177 mm
long for doors exceeding 4920 mm in width.
|
The hinges will be in galvanized steel, 2.2 mm thick, numbered
and with a graduation to insure a tight fitting to the jambs.
Door sections weighing more than 55 kg or exceeding 4920 mm in
width will have double end hinges. The hinges will be 3 mm thick
on doors weighing more than 159 kg.
|
The bottom corner brackets will be in galvanized steel 2.7 mm
thick.
Safety bottom corner brackets are mandatory on all doors with a
hi-lift or vertical lift.
|
The torsion springs will be oil tempered helical type designed
to withstand 10,000 to 100,00 cycles per annum depending on its
application. The shaft or tubing will be retained to the end
bearing plates with press fitted bearings. The intermediate
bearing plates in Z275 galvanized steel 3.4 mm thick will be
supplied in suitable number to support the torsion springs and
the weight of the door.
|
The cable drums will be high pressure die cast aluminum alloy.
The dimensions of the drums vary according to the size of the
door and required hi-lift.
|
The cables will be in galvanized steel, aircraft type, 7 x 19
construction, with a safety factor 7:1 to suit a 10,000 cycle
life minimum to 100,000 cycle life maximum.
|
The shaft will be cold roll steel tubing 2.1 mm for doors up to
159 kg. The shaft will be a solid cold roll 25 mm in diameter
for doors over 159 kg with key way.
|
a) We do not recommend the use of any extension springs.
b) The torsion springs mechanism must be wound by qualified
labour to prevent accidents considering the pressure being
exerted on the springs.
