NEW REVOLUTIONARY MAUFACTURING
DESIGN CONCEPT
|
SERIES 350 - HIGH TECHNOLOGY ALUMINUM OR STEEL DOORS WITH
SAFETY STRUT
|
Doors are in aluminium or in steel injected with polyurethane as
per series 350 manufactured by DORION DOORS INC. All doors are
supplied according to our shop drawings and standardized
specifications described below.
|
The new technical evolution has made it possible to manufacture
panels starting from a steel frame skeleton covered with
appropriate metal sheets on both sides inside which the
polyurethane is injected at a density of 49 kg/cubic metre (3.6
lbs/cubic foot) to obtain a very resistant and high tech quality
door.
|
The doors are manufactured to withstand an overload due to the
wind of 1 kPa with less than 1/240 deflection in the horizontal
plane.
|
High quality aluminum sheeting as per norm ASTM B-209 and
commercial quality steel sheeting as per norm ASTM 653. Steel
satin coated sheets as per norm ASTM ZF75 and galvanized steel
sheets as per norm ASTM Z275.
|
The inside and outside sheets are in steel 0.70 mm thick or in
aluminum 0.60 mm thick. The covering sheets are supplied with
three horizontal grooves in the 535 mm high sections and four in
the 610 mm high sections.
|
The sections will have 535 mm and 610 mm high. The nominal
thicknesses will be 45 mm, 50 mm or 100 mm. Between each
section, the 45 mm and 50 mm doors are provided with tongue and
groove section joints and the 100 mm doors are provided with an
isothermal triple break. The end stiles are in rigid PVC. Inside
the full height of the sections, steel back-up plates to fasten
the hinges.
|
REINFORCING SAFETY STRUT:
|
Further to our research, our new structural panels concept has
made it possible to reduce the curvatures of the doors
prevailing during the winter seasons.
Each section is supplied with a horizontal reinforcing safety
steel strut embedded into the insulating foam during the
injection process, the full width of the section.
With this concept, it strengthens the panel construction to
resist impacts as well as reducing the possibility of intrusions
through the door panels.
|
Each section is supplied with an isothermal break with
interchangeable santoprene weatherstrip.
By using santoprene, which is a refrigeration product, it does
not shrink when confronted with the cold and consequently, keeps
its elasticity and shape. Because of the sizes used, the
santoprene has the peculiarity of reducing to the maximum air
infiltrations and to increase the energetic efficiency.
The bottom section is supplied with an extruded aluminium or a
rigid PVC channel with a "U"-shaped interchangeable santoprene
weatherstrip. The top section is also supplied with an extruded
aluminium or a rigid PVC channel with an interchangeable
santoprene flap.
|
The sections are insulated with C.F.C. free polyurethane foam,
injected as per norm ASTM C-518 for thermal resistance. The
injection density is 49 kg/cubic meter (3.6 lbs per cubic foot).
Injection process: from one end to the other in each section
without any interference with wood pieces. The R-value is RSI
2.8 (R-16.4) for doors 45 mm and RSI 5.3 (R-30) for doors 100
mm.
|
The aluminum or steel sheeting has a light woodgrain finish
painted the standard polar white colour R11255. Other colours
are available at an extra cost. For other colours the finish
paint is acrylic/polyurethane of certified 48 microns.
N.B. DARK COULOURS ARE NOT RECOMMENDED.
|
The standard rectangular 610 mm wide x 305 mm high glazing is 3
mm double clear "thermo" pane encased in a self-blocking
polyvinyl moulding. The standard number of openings per width of
door is
2440 mm and 2740 mm 2
3050 mm to 3660 mm 3
3960 mm to 4880 mm 4
5180 mm to 6100 mm 5
6400 mm 6
7300 mm 8
|
Doors 45 or 50 mm thick up to 5490 mm wide x 5490 mm high.Doors
100 mm thick up to 9750 mm wide x 8500 mm high.
Dorion Doors Inc. highly recommend the use of aluminum due its
lightness, easy maintenance and most importantly the materials
is rust free.
