SERIES 1001 - ROLLING STEEL FIRE DOOR

The door dimensions so that the door receives the U.L.C. label
and be considered a fire door must have a maximum width of
4115mm and a maximum height of 3656mm. Doors with other
dimensions are also available.

The construction and installation of the fire doors are based on
Underwriters Laboratories of Canada (U.L.C.) specifications.
Class A - Opening in a wall.
(3 hour rating)
Class B - Vertical shaft.
(1 1/2 hour rating.)
Class C - Corridor and room partition
(3/4 hour rating)
Doors with dimensions exceedind 4115mm in width or 3658mm in
height will receive an U.L.C. label "oversize".
N.B. The type of materials of the jambs or wall can influence
the label class.

The door operation is push-up for doors up to 2440mm in height;
chain block or crank operation and for larger doors; electric
operator.

The automatic closing mechanism is thermally controlled by
release of fuse links (2 on the coil side - 1 on the opposite
side). The closing speed is controlled by a governor.

The rolling fire door consists of curved or flat interlocking
slats in Z 275 galvanized steel 0.76 mm (22 gauge)* thick as
series 1001 by Dorion Doors Inc. The slats height is 50 mm (2").
Each end of every alternate slat is to be fitted with steel
endlocks that will engage and lock in the guides.
The bottom of the curtain is constructed with two reinforcing
steel angles.

The guides consists of minimum 3.2mm or 4.8mm thick steel angles
with expansion slots for bolt dilatation.

The brackets to be no less than 4.8mm thick steel plate, to
contain sealed self-aligning ball bearings for suspension of the
counterbalancing assembly. Brackets to be mounted to form an
enclosure for the hood.

COUNTERBALANCING MECHANISM
|
The counterbalancing mechanism consists of tempered helicoidal
torsion springs with a 25% safety factor, mounted on shaped cast
anchors, supported by a continuous solid cold rolled steel shaft.
This mechanism to be permanently lubricated and enclosed within
a steel pipe. The spring tension adjusting wheel is to be
readily accessible from ouside the bracket plate.

The hood to be of 0.61mm (24 gauge) thick galvanised steel with
hood supports where required.

The finish on steel parts to be Z-275 galvanized or one shop
coat of gray metal primer.
